The Christian Du Pont Collection, renown for its unique and exquisite
beauty, is located in the heart of Palm Beach. The 6,000 square foot
showroom exhibits some of the world’s finest French antiques. Through a
labyrinth of jewel-toned rooms, wafting with the nectar of roses and
madrigal music, one enters 18th century France.
The Du Pont legacy began in Le Touquet, France in 1965 where Christian Du
Pont launched his first antique shop–an immediate success. Four years later,
Christian and Virginia married and opened a second shop in Lille, the
largest city north of Paris. The couples’ personal style, love for beautiful
things and knowledge of fine antiques quickly earned them an excellent
reputation.
Several more shops soon followed |

In 1979 Christian and Virginia, with their two young children in-tow,
visited Florida and fell in love with Palm Beach. Three years later, they
achieved their dream and opened their first showroom in the United States on
their beloved Island. The refined, European elegance of the internationally
acclaimed showroom displays their collection with exceptional grace and
style.
Traveling several times a year, the Du Ponts discriminately purchase
antiques from private collections both in Europe and the United States. This
eliminates intermediaries and permits them to offer antiques at a reasonable
price. Each antique is refinished utilizing the old European method of
restoration.
This site represents only a portion of the Collection. Christian and
Virginia extend a warm invitation to all who admire antiques and precious
works of art to visit the showroom.
