An ormolu-mounted, serpentine-shaped, Boulle style desk, mid-19th century, circa 1860. The ormolu-banded, turtle-shaped top with a gilt-tooled leather-lined writing surface above a frieze fitted with a central drawer and raised on cabriole legs ending in pierced sabots. The whole fitted with exceptional ormolu mounts depicting grotesques, very fine quality. |
