An important French, Louis XV style exotic woods and ormolu mounted bureau plat from the 1st part of the 19th century circa 1830. The rectangular top inlaid with a central floral spray within various bands of purple wood surrounded by an ormolu rim with foliate clasps at each corner. Each end with a gilt tooled leathered writing slide. The frieze fitted with an arrangement five drawers sans traverse and raised on cabriole legs. The whole in a stunning parquetry of cubes and mounted in pierced foliate cast ormolu mounts. |
