A French, ormolu-mounted Régence
style, ebonized writing table with brass inlay. Mid-19th century, circa
1840. The leather-lined serpentine-shaped top above a serpentine frieze
fitted with a central drawer decorated with an ormolu figural grotesque.
The whole raised on cabriole legs headed by figural ormolu corner mounts
and ending in hoof feet. The top and frieze decorated throughout with
brass inlay. |
