A sensational, ormolu-mounted, Louis XV style center table in a boxwood, tulipwood and rosewood cube parquetry, mid-19th century, circa 1840. The serpentine-sided marble top above a cube parquetry frieze enclosing a long central drawer and decorated with figural masks, each leg headed by pierced ormolu chute ending in a pierced ormolu sabot; also banded by ormolu banding. The whole cast with gilt-bronze mounts throughout. | |
